Crackdown and state terrorism all over Greece, on the pretext of demonstrations in memory of the murdered student, Alexis Grigoropoulos

Today, on December 6th 2020, 12 years have passed since the murder of the 15 year-old student Alexis Grigoropoulos, who was shot dead by the police officer Korkoneas, under the state's responsibility. This murder didn't only shake Greece, but peoples all around the globe.

This murder was the straw that broke the camel's back and brought about a youth uprising, since they saw their own reflection in the face of Grigoropoulos, given the fundamental crisis of the capitalist-imperialist crisis, with a future that is both uncertain and without any prospect. School and university students as well as broader parts of the Greek youth were daily protesting and organising demonstrations, take-overs and assemblies in schools and universities. In front of the beating, the tear-gas and the arrests they were more and more infuriated, because they understood more and more that Alexis Grigoropoulos' death was not an accident, but the real face of this rotting system.

ATHENS: NEO-NAZI ‘’GOLDEN DAWN’’ TRIAL Conviction combined with state repression Which “democracy” won?

More than 25,000 people gathered on Alexandras Avenue and surrounding streets erupted in applause with the announcement of the decision of the Criminal Court of Appeals at the Golden Dawn trial. Only minutes later, riot police attacked with an obvious predetermined government plan to dismantle the rally with chemicals, flash grenades and water spraying from modern their new armored vehicles. The largest part (including our block) walked towards Vassilissis Sofias Avenue and completed the demonstration at the Parliament, while the smaller one headed towards Patision Avenue.

Resolution of the Central Organ of the Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist)

• For several weeks now, humanity has been facing an expanding and rapidly spreading epidemic (pandemic), that of coronavirus.
The spread and danger of this pandemic (with many issues still ongoing and the controversy among the world's major centers of power) absolutely blames the world capitalist-imperialist system, especially regarding its course in recent decades. It reveals all the dominant effort to destigmatize capitalism, its laws and contradictions, which seeks to load its own responsibility for exposing humanity to a great health risk to the peoples themselves, who are supposedly dirty, careless, and irresponsible. It has been shown that the racial-racist attempt to separate societies into resilient and not resilient, developed and non-developed, and affected differently by viruses, was short-lived.
As we have pointed out, the coronavirus in particular does not do as many "distinctions" as those before it appeared to do, that the so-called "developed" world considered to be confined to the underdeveloped, poor and impoverished regions of the world. (the well-known discrimination between the diseases of "civilization", and the others). We understand, therefore, from this point of view also, that the progress of the epidemic has caused such a shock in the metropolises and other capitalist countries in the West, East, North and South.
So, we must place the great political and social cost of the global capitalist system in this context, because it left "defenseless" and "unfortified" even parts of the planet that were "famous" for health systems, for social and health protection, for hygiene conditions.

Redspark Interview #7: On the fallacy of SYRIZA and perspectives from Greece

Repost from Redspark
The following interview was conducted recently with our comrades from the Communist Party of Greece (marxist-leninist). They introduce the interview with their perspectives and some thoughts on their strategy.
The strategic direction of our organization is that the only way out for the working class and the people is independence and socialism, which requires revolution for the working class and the people to assume power. The revolution has the task to destroy the bourgeois state and build a State that will express the new power of the working class and its allies. The revolution will not only have to confront the bourgeoisie, but will also have to break the imperialist chains, overthrowing the foundations of the double (US-EU) imperialist dependency. We emphasize that US-NATO-EU imperialists will not remain idle when faced with a revolutionary movement; they will use all their power and capabilities within our country to suppress and stifle it. The revolution will have to confront them as well! This situation has been reinforced during the years of SYRIZA’s administration, by policies that reinforced the political and military presence of the US in the country, as well as those relating to the “debt management-annexation” grid, with which the bourgeoisie linked its own future more closely with the imperialists, who in turn upgraded their role in controlling the country.

On the result of the elections in Greece

Monday, July 8, 2019
After July 7th elections New Democracy (ND) returned to office with a percentage that gives them absolute majority in the Parliament. This is the result of the reactionary road paved by the anti-grassroots policies that the government of SYRIZA followed during the last years. This government change will continue and deepen the attack against the rights of toilers and the people. This is reinforced by the fact that the bourgeois parties that support and push this attack (ND, SYRIZA, KINAL-the former mighty social-democratic PASOK) gathered all together 80% of the votes, which constitutes a major success of systemic powers in and out of the country. The elections also recorded the establishment of abstention, which, on one hand, enlarges the percentage of the ruling parties, but, on the other, greatly consists a form of manifestation against these anti-grassroots policies followed by all governments during the last years.

Announcement of USA troops withdrawal from Syria is evidence of acceleration of reactionary developments and conflicts

  • Trump’s recent announcement of withdrawal of American troops from Syria, should not create any complacent feelings; on the contrary it should alert all the peoples of the area. The reason why is because –one way or another- this constitutes the acceleration of the development of conflict between the US and the other imperialists, especially Russia; and of course the escalation of their invasive policy in the area.
Let us not forget that last time the US announced a troops’ withdrawal, that very announcement came with the launching of Tomahawk missiles against Syria and with the even greater intervention of the US to the Syrian front, which, even though much less possible at the moment, cannot be excluded as a possibility.
It is also indicative that this announcement comes with the US underlining (so that there are no misconceptions to any foes or allies) that they are sustaining their ability to face swiftly and decisively any upcoming threat, through their Iraq based troops and assault weapon systems. Even the withdrawal timetable  the US announced gives them the potential to calculate the results and even the reactions from their announcement, in order to plan ahead their next steps.

Joint announcement of CPG(m-l) TKP/ML

The crisis of the global capitalist-imperialist system fuels and is fueled by the contradictions of the imperialist powers at all levels. All around the world workers and peoples are facing the most ferocious attack of the system’s forces which seek a solution in an ever greater and more profound barbarism. In our countries the working class and the peoples live in the conditions of fierce exploitation, unemployment, and impoverishment. The working force is getting discredited, the social and democratic rights of the masses are being trampled upon. In the meantime, the imperialist grip is tightening in a region, which constitutes an ardent and crucial arena of the global imperialist competition. A region in which American, Russian, Chinese, and European imperialists come across and clash according to the ambitions and magnitudes of each, in a tangle of contradictions, that daily magnifies the dangers for the peoples.
In this context the peril of war, that threatens the peoples on the both sides of the Aegean Sea, grows ever larger. A peril that is rooted in the particular and specific features, and in the history of the two countries” reactionary confrontation, but at the same time constitutes an integral part of the turmoil and of the developments that are occurring across the region.

The road we want to follow

Presentation of CPG(m-l)  in the International Meeting that took place in Athens  on  4 and 5 of November.
Main event:
100 years from October of 1917. The Socialist revolution inspires, teaches and leads.
This year is the 100th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution. It has been a hundred years since the first successful attempt of the common people, of the proletarians to come to power; a hundred years since the first successful attempt of the exploited and suppressed working class and the masses of the poor people’s strata. This was the first step to build a different society, without the exploitation of man by man, to build a socialist society, followed by a communist one.
This is the 100th anniversary since those who produce the wealth of our society stormed into the heavens, upon whose labor the bourgeoisie and all kinds of exploitative classes built their own domination. And it was the former who changed the course of history once and for all! Nothing remained the same as before, in a global level. Organized as they were through the new forms of power that emerged from the flames of class struggle and the war, through the Soviet power, and under the guidance of the Bolshevik Party, Lenin and Stalin’s Party, they practically proved the relentless power hidden within the millions of oppressed workers and people. They proved that the proletariat can seize the power and keep it for its own sake. In spite of the dominant propaganda which considered that the “dirty poor”, the “uneducated”, the “half-wit” working class is unable of such a feat, let aside to govern. They considered that the struggle for a just society without exploitation and oppression, for a society ruled by the people was, more or less, a utopia. They told us that this world can never change, that whatever was, will remain for eternity. They told us that it is in the nature of man to live under injustice, inequality and oppression, war and poverty, that it is natural for the few and powerful to govern over those who produce society’s wealth.

Not all revolutionary situations give birth to revolutions.

Presentation of CPG(m-l)  in the International Meeting that took place in Athens  on  4 and 5 of November.
Topic of Discussion:
October revolutionImperialist war – weakest chain link – social alliances -vanguard of the working class – socialist construction. Questions and answers about the October revolution that shook the world
Not all revolutionary situations give birth to revolutions. Neither the rising of the common people nor the crisis of the elite will cause the overthrowing. The objective changes must meet on with the subjective, and the revolutionary class must have the ability to take on action, to guide and to be as powerful as it needs to be to crush the old government, that, as Lenin said, “not even in times of crisis will not fall unless overthrown”.

The 1st Imperialist World War combined the three contradictions (capital-labor, contradictions between imperialists and imperialism-peoples) and accelerated the struggle of the Russian proletariat. In 1917, while Russia was in a general crisis that the provisional government of Kerensky was unable to manage, the workers drive away the management of the enterprises and demand that power passes to the soviets. The peasants are disappointed by the SR party and do not apply the farming program. They defy the landlords, trespass their land, attack their villas and rise against them. The Bolsheviks guide the sailors and the soldiers refuse to fight in the front and driving the reactionary officers away, electing new ones in their place. The objective situation thus creates pre-revolutionary conditions. The correct party line and the determination of the Bolsheviks and the continuous confidence of the masses in them creates the subjective conditions. The power of the soviets of workers, peasants and soldiers is born from the will for a better life and stems from the Aurora guns and the weapons of the Red Guard, which invades the winter palace. The revolution is a reality, the ice has been broken, the road is open, the way has been shown.

Imperialism is the eve of the socialist revolution

Joint announcement of TKP/ML and CPG(m-l) for the 100 years of the October Revolution and the ICOR internet discussion

After almost three decades after the 89-91 collapse of the eastern regimes, things seem clearer for whomever wants to interpret the world and bear the responsibilities. The ideological cloak of “globalization”, “the end of history”, and “class struggle” that were weaved in the imperialist think tanks is now frayed. The capitalist storm and the imperialist barbarity and atrocity fell upon billions of toiling popular masses and so revealed its true face.

The structural, whole and incurable systemic crisis has ignited a new round of assault against the proletariat and the peoples that can be compared only with the period of “first accumulation”.

About the Restoration of Capitalism in the USSR

Contribution to ICOR’s internet Seminar discussion for the 100 years of the October Revolution. By G. Andreatos, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (m-l).

The October Revolution constituted the highest winning point of class struggle in Russia, with a huge international meaning for the development of the working, revolutionary and communist movement in all of earth. The victorious socialist revolution and construction of socialism constituted worldly events that had a great impact in the political and social processes in the whole planet and gave new momentum in the working class and the people in their confrontation with their oppressors. On the other hand, the restoration of capitalism in the USSR that was signaled by the 20th conference of the CPSU in 1956 and was completed through the collapses in the period of ’89-91 constituted a big setback and finally a serious defeat for the working, revolutionary and communist movement, the consequences of which, are faced, until today by the working class, the people and all who insist on the revolutionary, communist road.

The search for the causes of the capitalism restoration in the USSR, China and the other ex-socialist countries is an important duty for all the revolutionary and communist forces that insist on the road of the October, on the road of socialism, the road of the liberation of the earth’s damned from the chains of capitalism-imperialism. And it is an important duty for these forces, since, today, they are the ones that lift the weight of the questions, the doubts, the attacks, by friends and enemies, regarding the transformation of the proletariat authority and the socialist construction in their opposite. The answers, first of all are owed to the working class and the people, in order to arm themselves ideologically and politically against the capital and the imperialists, in the formation of their resistances and their fronts of struggle. That’s why the answers which we will give do not solely concern the “yesterday”, but mainly the “today” and “tomorrow” of the working, revolutionary and communist movement.

October 1917,100 years from the first dash to the sky (2/2)

The second part of the two presentations of an open event for the 100 years of the October Revolution that took place in Athens in May of 2017.

By T. Fotopoulos member of the Central Committee of CPG(m-l).

We are going through a historical period where the realism of the practicing policy is centered on the fact that "revolutionary politics do not work, and they have a marginal appeal".
We live in a period where a revolutionary policy with a look towards tomorrow is constantly postponed, and revolutionary voluntarism has been banished from thinking and practice.
It is a phase of the movement where “left pessimism”, with eyes fixed on parliamentary percentages, brings disappointment.
It is a time when the workers' communist strategy, as a living policy in the battles of today, is seeked, and must be rebuilt. For now it is ideologically “underground”, treated as "sectarianism" or "leftism" ...
In this endeavor to restore the revolutionary view to the present, we want to contribute with this event, but mainly with our political intervention, since this will give us again the food for the theory of the new period of the Communist movement that we are already walking on.

October 1917,100 years from the first dash to the sky (1/2)

This was the first of the two presentations in an open event for the 100 years of the October Revolution that took place in Athens in May of 2017. By P. Chountis member of the Central Committee of CPG(m-l).
It took a few decades to realize the picturesque finding in the Communist Manifesto in 1848, that "A spectre is haunting Europe—the spectre of communism".
We could say that the massive presence of the working class in historical development starts in the 1830s and 1840s. The labour struggles of Lyon and the movement of Chartists are accompanied by the first socialist-communist approaches. The revolution in Paris in 1848 is the first dynamic presence of the proletariat and leads to the proletarian uprising in late June. The uprising is repressed and thousands are executed and displaced in labour camps in Algeria, but it affects a wave of uprisings across Europe. Marx describes the 1848 uprising in Paris as the "first major battle between the two classes in which the modern society is divided".
The next wave comes with the shocking events in Paris in 1870-71 that lead to the first proletarian-revolutionary power, the Commune that lasts from late March to late May. During these two months, the Commune replaces the regular army by the militia, gives away all rents since October 1870, allows the election of foreign nationals in the Commune, imposes a ceiling on Communist officials, votes for the division of Church and State, the abolition of state subsidies for religious purposes, the removal of religious symbols from schools, the destruction of the guillotine, the demolition of the chauvinistic and warmonger Column of Victory, the creation of collaborative cooperatives for the operation of factories, the abolition of night shift for baker workers, the closing of the pawnshops and more.
In late May the Commune is crushed by the army, in an agreement between the French bourgeoisie and the German invaders. A mass massacre follows. Engels says that "such a massacre has not happened since the civil wars that prepared the fall of the Roman Empire". And adds that in the uprising of 1848 "the bourgeoisie showed the terrible toughness that its vengeance can reach, if the proletariat dares to stand as a separate class with its own claims and interests". To conclude with the observation that "yet, 1848 was like a game compared to the rage of the bourgeoisie in 1871".
Τhe labour struggles are handed over to the US working class. Nine years after the rail strikes in 1877, on May 1st 1886, US unions go on strike demanding eight-hour working day. While thousands of workers do achieve the eight-hour working day, mass strikes are facing brutal police repression that leads to violent deaths, arrests and death sentences for four workers in a parody-trial.

Resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (m-l)

The emergence of Donald Trump and his team in the lead of US imperialism highly determines the international political and economic developments.
This was a particularly aggressive decision which aimed in preserving and reproducing the ability of the US superpower to rule and dominate the global capitalist-imperialist system.
To rule and dominate the world has always been the goal of the US superpower, either under Reagan or Clinton or Obama administration and will continue to be so under Trump.
At this stage, however, the pursuit of this goal encounters new difficulties and has produced additional contradictions. The result is that the mismatch between the means available to the US superpower and the objectives it has set has further widened.
The dominant position that US imperialism has established, with multiple crimes against peoples and countries in recent decades, mandates that it serves multiple conflicting priorities-necessities and that it intervenes in new fronts that it has to open, but without first closing any older ones.
Therefore, peoples are concerned of the growing threats of new imperialist interventions, local wars, redrawing of borders and zones of influence, new harsh measures that will aggrandize the exploitation of the working class, robbing of peoples and countries, impoverishment of millions of people, more refugees and migrants.
They are concerned because as long as the US goals are not met, a generalized war will be approaching, either as an «accident» or as a «last resort» solution of the unscrupulous killers and opportunists that lead US imperialism.
